Uncomfortable suspense at the close--a disappointment. I did not find this to be all that erotic, unlike some others, and I enjoyed reading about this protagonist's travels more than her sexual longings and adventures. This protagonist is writing a series of emails to her distant lover and they are usually brief and there is a lot of repetition. It seems very realistic--I think this woman would write something very like this if this were real (and maybe it is?). Nevertheless, her feelings are so consistent that there is a limited number of ways of expressing them. I didn't like this as much as I wanted to.Product details

I just read the few pages of this book and it is such honest reading. I am just in Chapter 1 and already, I have been invited into the intimate world of Anna, whose life is love and passion in its very honest sense. It is so in touch with the way we connect these days. Email love letters... who said emails were impersonal? Can't wait to finish reading the book.
This novel creeps up on you. Early, it seems to be a typical romance with a structural monotony that will irritate. Yet beneath lurks another story and another level of meaning and flow that escapes the structure and captures deep attention.
The text gives hints and shades of different angles on the relationship that forms the centre of attention.
One is left wondering whether Ana is going to be trapped in a loop in her life
An unsettling tale and definitely worth having a look.
A truly steamy romance, every page filled with uncontrollable passion. I loved the scenes of Melbourne, and the excerpts from great writers of the past. The author has used an original writing format that adds truth to the story and must resonate with so many people seperated from their beloveds. I ended up falling in love with the main character!
Was I reading the same book as everyone else? I have a suspicion that Anna was sending emails to herself and that James was make believe!
